Iris Socks

I finished my Iris Socks!

The cuff is done in a Vandyke stitch. A simple diamond lace design.

This is an afterthought heel, only I used an old weave stitch and then due to the reduction every other row, it’s staggered, making it look like a lace stitch.
Update 6/7/08:
Gave Carol the Iris socks for her birthday and she […]

My First Handspun Yarn

Wow! It’s great to be back! Had technical difficulties with the home computer.  It’s all better now, so I had to show off my latest project: My first homespun yarn!

I tried Navajo Plying first…but it wasn’t exactly a success:

I plan on practicing more with this turning-a-single-into-a-3-ply-yarn-thing.
What’s on the needles: My own design socks. After they are completed, […]

I cast-on some lace socks the other night with my Jojoland Breeze yarn.

I originally got the pattern from MagKnits, but sadly, it is closed now. Here’s the good-bye letter:
Dear MagKnitters

publishing free patterns on […]

Aren’t they adorable?! She decided to give them to her little brother so he’d have some house socks. Isn’t that sweet?

These are the tank […]

Today I wanted to share some fun, informative blogs and books that will help you learn about this amazing craft.
I have only been learning on my drop spindle for about a month, but I’m hooked! I’m still not finished with the 4 oz. of roving I got here , but I can’t hardly wait to […]

Shearing Day Event

My family and I went down to the Millennial Way Farm to watch their spring shearing. We had such a great time! They have several Jacob Spotted sheep, a few Alpacas and quite a few Angora rabbits.
We watched the shearing, got to pet the new baby lambs, and the super soft Angora bunnies, bought roving […]
