Here’s My “Favorite” Sweater from Drops Designs # 52-11
The main two colors are superwash sport-weight wool in creme and a heathered rose, that actually has a bit of kelly green and some light grey running through it~very pretty! The band at the bottom is a nine-patch of red and white with teal and a heathered […]

I turned 35 yesterday, and dang I look old on the video that DH got of me blowing out the candles!!!! I said to him, “Gees, I don’t look like that to myself when I look in the mirror.” and he […]

I finally got crackin’ with my Tulip Socks and here’s what I’ve gotten done so far in only a couple of days (I still can’t believe how quick these knit up)!
I still need to put the afterthought heel in, but look at what I have to weave in when I’m done…
Looks like fun, huh?

Here’s the diaper bag as I’m trying to stretch it into a rectangle of sorts so I can sew up the sides and put on the pockets before I felt it.
This is what it’s supposed to look like when I get done.

I really like the “Afterthought Heel” because of it’s look. It makes your socks look like they have the “Short-row” or “Wrapped heel” just like store bought socks, but the afterthought heel is so much easier to construct and I don’t get holes like I did with the short-row heel. Here is my sock with a strand of white cotton yarn as my scrap yarn. (You can see my finger just under it). Here is where I picked up the stitches from the scrap yarn and I am now ready to knit on my heel.
This is what the sock looked like when I was […]
