Mittens, Missouri and More
We had our good friends from Reno, Nevada come and stay with us the last couple of weeks and we all had such a good time together, it was the best 4th of July I can remember!

Took them up to Branson, MO for a couple of days and had fun at Silver Dollar City .
Even though we had a lot of rain this month so far, we caught a break on the night of the 4th, and were able to set off fireworks as per our yearly tradition down here.
I even managed to get a pair of mittens made for one of my munchkins. I made them from my own handspun yarn I made a couple of months ago. I found the pattern on the Knitting Central site.

I hope you all had a fun Independence Day, too and that your summer is going great!

I really like those mittens - such nice color, too! Hard to lose in the snow or dead grass when they fall off. How’s the finished knitting feel?
The funny thing about the intarsia is it’s SO addictive. You keep thinking “uck, okay, too many dang strands, this is the last row” and then you get all fascinated by the colors and “oh, one more row” and then the strands get shorter, and it gets easier to knit, and suddenly you’re onto a single color row wondering how you’ll weave in all those ends.
Have you ever done any? I did a really complicated Beatrix Potter baby blanket I made up from a cross stitch pattern a couple times that took months . . . .
