Gifts come in many different packages…
This year for Christmas, I got several great gifts from my sweet hubby and kiddos. They gave me a beautiful knitting bag, some needles, and two sweaters’ worth of yarn for a couple of projects I’ve been wanting to make out of the Interweave Knits Winter 2007 magazine. (I’ll post pics later)
Also… I was given the gift of a phone call I made to my grandmother Helen yesterday (she lives in Nevada) … I called and had a wonderful conversation with her
She told me a joke she’d heard from one of the nurses there in the Nursing Home and we just talked and talked about all kinds of things, and when I hung up, I thanked my Lord Jesus for prompting me to call her, because it was such a nice talk…and it turned out to be the last talk I’ll ever have with her.
She had a heart attack an hour and a half later…
I was given a very special gift of being allowed to sayI loved her and I told her good-bye, and I’m so very thankful for that…I will miss her very much but have that special memory that I will always treasure.
I thank you LORD for my Grandmother Helen, for her love and encouragement. I’m so thankful for her salvation, knowing she is with YOU now and in a place of no tears or worry or sorrow. I have a peace in my heart and that is the hope YOU give those who believe. You have gone to prepare a place for us and you are there waiting until our work here is done. Be with our family now, give peace and assurance to us in this time. Amen.
