Deep-fried Pickles

I don’t know about you, but when I first heard about these, I thought, “Ugk”.  It’s a southern thing to fry everything edible, but last weekend my DH and I tried some of these southern tradition appetizers, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that they were delicious! I don’t mind dill pickles,  and I’ll eat one once in a while, but I gotta tell ya’, these deep fried pickles were sooo yummy. So, if you want something different thing to try out, why not fry some dill pickles?

FRIED DILL PICKLES

1 jar dill pickle spears
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. fish fry

Mix egg and milk then dip pickles in mixture. Roll in fish fry. Deep fry in oil until golden and crisp. Drain well on paper towels.

    Fried foods is one of the few things about being a Southerner I have never understood, no one in my family likes to fry food and I never have liked it much, but fried pickles… OH MY! I don’t know how to tell anyone how good these are until they try them…. There is a place down the road from us that makes the worlds best! I may have to go and grab some for lunch today!
