Hello there! Long time, no write! Well, let’s see…. I guess it’s been, what about two weeks since my last entry on here….First off, my youngest dd is still doing great with her knitting
My oldest dd is crocheting a square piece of wool to felt and turn into a bunny rabbit, should be really cute when it’s done.
We went to the District Fair and my socks got a blue ribbon with “Considered for Best of Show” on the tag. My oldest dd got 2nd place in the talent contest up there, too. Oh! I also just found out that my socks are on their way to the Arkansas State Fair! I’ve never done this before, you know, so I called the 4-H office this morning and she said that the Best of Show in County goes to state no matter what happens at District…cool! We get to go to the State Fair this year, hee, hee!
I finished the blue socks that I started a couple of weeks ago when we went for a quick weekend vaca to Branson. And I’ve also finished the 1st sock of the pair I’m making for my youngest dd for Christmas. I’m loving this yarn! If you have the means I highly recommend you getting some…it’s Lisa Souza superwash marino sock yarn. It’s so very soft…it feels like butter. Not that I run my fingers through butter a lot to be a expert in that discription, but you get the idea.
I’m still working on Grace now and then, it’s going to be a long time before I finish, I’m afraid, but I WILL get it done, promise!
Have you ever seen Andrea Wong’s site The Wong Way of Knitting She has these cool knitting pins that hold your yarn up to your shoulder and you knit Portuguese style and let me tell you, purling is like greased lightning! I’m ordering a couple of these from her this week and will show you all how the pin looks when I get them in. Andrea is such a nice lady, too. I talked with her on the phone to make sure she had some of these in stock and I had the nicest conversation with her. I highly recommend visiting her site and she has dvd’s and patterns available for sale also.
As I was perusing the internet, I came across this link Twinkleberry Socks
These are gorgeous socks and the best part is the pattern is FREE! Go check them out.
That’s all for today, hope to post a bit more regularly, sorry I’m so lax about it lately.
Keep those needles clicking!
