A contest, a birthday and some books
The Talent Contest went well Saturday night. DD got second place for her fiddle solo.
I turned 35 yesterday, and dang I look old on the video that DH got of me blowing out the candles!!!! I said to him, “Gees, I don’t look like that to myself when I look in the mirror.” and he replies, “You look better on video, huh?” and I said, “No, actually, I thought I looked okay in the mirror, but seeing myself on video…I’m depressed. I didn’t know that’s how I really look.” He told me I was being silly, but I don’t think so…oh well, I’m not in my 20’s anymore, right?
For a birthday present, my folks sent me a Barnes & Noble card, so I ordered three books I’ve been wanting to get for quite a while now. Two of them are older, but the sock book is a recent publication.
Favorite Socks 25 Timeless Designs by Ann Budd & Anne Merrow (4/07)
Traditional Fair Isle Knitting by Sheila McGregor (9/03)
Spin To Knit by Shannon Okey (10/06)
And speaking of Shannon Okey, I just discovered her call-in podcast show The knitgrrl Show
Really enjoyed it! Click on an episode, I think you’ll enjoy it!
