Gettin’ that Monkey Sock off my back
Here’s the Monkey Sock by Cookie A. from Knitty. I made this pair on size 3 needles with Lorna’s Laces “Springer” sock yarn.

I like how these turned out except for the fact that I had to use such a big needle size to get the gauge recommended for the pattern (32 stitches/48 rounds = 4 inches). I like a tighter stitch than that, but I couldn’t have fit the sock on my foot if I’d used a size 1 needle and gotten my usual 10 stitches per inch gauge. So…I purchased some size 2 needles from my LYS and hope that they will be a nice solution to my problem. I’m in 2 KALs The Jigsawsockalong and the Lime n Violet Knit-A-Long and it’s really sad that I’ve not been able to get a decent sock done from either of these (I’ve been to the frog pond a couple of times on each pair). I’m crossing my fingers that the size 2 needles will be perfect and I can whip out these two pairs very quickly.
Other than that I’m going to start my Tulip socks. Yes, can you believe I’m actually going to start them again! Yippee! I hope to enter them into the fair this year. I’ve never entered into the fair so I’m a bit nervous, well, excited and nervous, I guess ![]()
Well, I’m off to go cast- on some Tulip Socks!
Happy Knitting!
