Green Socks

socks

I can’t believe how quickly I finished these socks! I love working with a bigger needle and thicker yarn! Yippee! It only took me like 6 days to finish, usually, to make a pair of men’s socks this size, it takes me 2 weeks, but that’s on size 1’s and with fingering weight yarn.

These were made from Encore DK which is 25% wool, 75% acrylic. They are so soft though, you’d be very surprised that they have so much acrylic in them.

I’m going to start my Tulip socks tonight and will post some pics of my progress.

New Acrylics are wonderful, they are working on some that even felt just like wools. I don’t like cotton chenilles, they are too nappy and don’t hold up nearly as well as the new acrylics. I can actually make socks out of moda dea’s chenilles but the cotton would have a hole walking around on my hard woods.
