Let’s Get Real Monday

Randi at I Have To Say has as her “Get Real Monday” theme: One Day. Well, I have a special day that I wanted to share, and there’s so many pictures I had to do two different slide shows.
This is the Soaring Wings Ranch I visited last week with my quilting ministry. We’ve been making quilts for this ranch for a couple of years, in anticipation of it’s opening. This is a Christian Children’s Ranch that will give kids, who are in need of it, a secure, loving, Christian family upbringing. There will be up to 8 children in each home with one set of Home Parents for each house. They have the first two homes built: One for boys and one for girls.
I can’t tell you how encouraging and wonderful it was to get to see the homes these children will live in. The Lord has blessed this project right from the git-go. It’s amazing how God has made this happen. From the purchase of the 200 acres, to the homes and the Home Parents and everything else.
We toured the homes and then we prayed with Mr. Watson, the ranch’s founder. Mr. Watson, or, Andrew, as we call him, knew years ago he wanted to start a ranch like this with his wife, Marla. They worked at another Christian children’s ranch (Big Oaks) together, to see the in’s and out’s of everything involved and get a good hands-on experience with it. They came away wanting to build a Christian children’s ranch here in N. Central Arkansas that much more.
So, with a little planning and a lot of praying, here’s the Soaring Wings Ranch in Holland, Arkansas.
P.S. (I’m the one in the brown shirt on the steps)
