In the knitting news….

I made two purses, for my 2 DD’s chat now phones, from some cotton/acrlic worsted. They sling over the shoulder to the opposite hip. The girls seem to really like them. It’s funny the little things we can make in no time at all that really give your kiddos enjoyment.

I’ve almost got my spring skirt finished, I only need chocolate brown for the bottom edge and I plan on making only two rounds of that and then bind-off. I’ll need to find some nice mint green fabric for the liner, though.

Been to the frog pond in a big way this week. I cast-on for my “Tulip” socks from Knit Picks, and got half of the cuff worked, and found my tension is way too tight~I couldn’t get the sock over my foot :O So, rip, rip, rip. Instead of buying bigger needles, I’ll just add another repeat of the pattern to my cast-on number and it should be just fine. I hope to post some pictures in a week or so.

Have you ever had chigger get at you? I must have been standing in a “chigger bed” unknowingly the other day, outside, because the little buggers got me several times on my ankles and legs! Stinkin’, itchy little pests :! The only thing I could do was wash real good with some “bleach alternative” soap and take an allergy pill and that helped with the itching, which is a good thing, because chigger “bites” itch worse than mosquito bites (they don’t burrow into your skin like the old myth says).

Well, I’m going to get my other Big Black Sock finished!

Happy Knitting!
