Exotic yarn can be as close as your nearest housepet..
You can make yarn out of any fur and now there’s a place that will take the fur you brush from your housepet, i.e. cat or dog, and spin yarn from it. Some folks have expressed revulsion at this, but I wonder why is it any different to have a cat hair sweater vs. say, a muskrat scarf? Or a hat made of Musk Ox undercoat (Qiviut)? Check out a place that creates yarn from a lot of commonplace animals.
