The end and the beginning

2006 comes to an end and tomorrow begins a new year AND this is the beginning of a new blog. I look forward to 2007 with much anticipation. I have a feeling it will be a prosperous year with discovery and growth.

Being an avid knitter, I have always been thankful to my Aunt Cecil who taught me when I was 13, and am excited to pass on what I know to others as my LYS owner friend just gave me the go-ahead to start my own knitting classes. I did teach one sock class a few months back, but now I plan to start teaching basic knitting classes and as the year goes on, teach more advanced knitting. I plan on teaching how to make sweaters and socks as well, and I’m itching to show others how to do the Fair Isle technique of knitting with both hands. www.philosopherswool.com has an excellent video of the technique and the vibrant colors just grab you and say, “Knit Me”!

New Year’s Eve plans: Go to church for the New Year Fellowship. DH is part of the worship team and they’ll be providing the musical entertainment.

On the needles: moss stitch cardiganHeather blue, moss-stitch cardigan (for me). It’s 100% merino wool from Bernat ; just lovely to work with and so reasonably priced, too.

Latest FO: blue and white baby sleeperBlue and white baby sleeper made from Patons Baby Soft (100% soft acrylic). I knit it in the round with the help of Ann Budd’s sweater book. Ms. Budd is a genius and her explanations are easy to understand and convertions are simply explained.
